Purchasing Matched ('Rub Tone') Violin Wood ...
... I have done this research and testing in order to make better sounding violins and to help others make wise wood parts selections. ...Please contact me individually if you think I might be able to help explain this concept more fully. Evenings or weedends are the best time as I do have to work for a living during the work week!
...Realizing how difficult this task of collecting matching wood parts for full sized violin construction, I might suggest you contact International Violin Company and ask for Ken. I introduced him to the "rub tone" concept of wood selection at a recent Violin Society of America national convention. Perhaps you could negotiate a mutually agreeable fee for them to select wood for your next instrument using the matching "rub tone" concept. A company such as theirs has the wood resource to made this type of selection possible. ( www. InternationalViolin.com )
