This is possibly the world's first:
- dual full width plates, angle grained, hot-water formed violin.
{this design maximizes the vibrating surface of the violin plates and is stronger and therefor lighter}
It has several additional features to contribute to a superior power and tone:
- the fingerboard is a cored with a lighter core wood to save weight (about 35 grams)
- A special varnish ground formula to produce better tone and power.
- A special European varnish ($ 800 per gallon) that stays flexible for enhanced sound.
- This violin sold in 2008 to a young lady.

...The body was completed and varnished in September, 2005 and first strung up about four months later. This violin has had several successful concert uses including the 2006 Northwest Instrument Makers Show at Marylhurst University in Oregon City, Oregon this April, 2006. It really has unusual ability to carry sound, is very powerful, and already has a pleasing tone usually only found on instruments a hundred years old. In fact, my vioin instructor {and vioin tester} Ron Kilde compares it to his 200+ year old Italian violin that he has found to be the most powerful violin he has run across! It can easily communicate even in a large noisy room with every note pure and clear.
This violin played classical music 24/7 in my special break-in sound acoustical box for two months recently. This tool plays music through the bridge just as if the instrument was bowed, the hardwood acoustical box reflects the sound back which amplifies the vibration in the instrument. This system really seems to really improve the violin's sound after about two months continuous 'playing' in this fashion, especially the low tones.

...First strung up and ready to play... now to glue the maker's label inside...This violin will outperform most of the good violins available today. It is an acoustical machine for music making. It really has a 'ring' to it. Two more like it will be available in the future when I get around to completing them!
