...Here is the first purchaser of this violin (with her dad). She played it for a year until I completed the birds-eye maple violin (opus #20) that she had her heart set on.
...Once she traded it for my latest violin, another Salem Youth symphony violinist (who had previously purchased one of my other violins) then claimed it as her own.
...I have a policy that purchasers of my violins may trade their purchased violin for another of equal value or get full trade value for their original purchase price if the new violin has a higher price.
...This flexibility seems to be appreciated.
...Now (09/2006) this second buyer has also traded it for another of my violins so it is available again, and since I just upgraded to my latest specs (3/07) it is better than ever..sold now 7/2008
...I just wish you could have heard Thia play it ( along with a famous French violin, played by her instructor) in the Bach double violin concerto.
...If not better than the other violin, it was at just as wonderful with a full rich tone and plenty of power. (at Willamette University here in Salem, Oregon)
... If you would like this wood on your next violin, I have enough of this French slab-cut maple for another four violins....
Loudness Bowing Test results:
The red line is Stradivarius violin tested (from the literature), the black line is
opus # 08. Power is quite good (tone is wonderful) through out range until the
top end of the E string (last 3 inches of fingerboard) where it looses some power.
Even these good results might be expected to improve as the oil varnish hardens over the next few years. (This test was several years ago and this violin plays with more power and tone than then.)
...Here is Theresa, the second owner.
...Theresa was just appointed the concert master of the Philharmonia section of the Salem Youth Orchestra (2005/6).
...Way to go Theresa!
Theresa recently traded this violin for one of my most recent so it is available again.
3/2007 I upgraded the plate tuning to really bring out the sound
