The bridge height is important to the violin playing properly.
This tool uses a leveled swinging router cutter to machine a neck support glue surface that is exactly square and perpendicular at the body face.
Just prior to this step, I have outlined the tapered shape of the neck on the front ribs and cut these lines with a sharp knife (to prevent wood split out during machining).
Here a tiny flat bottomed router bit is used to machine close to the final edge line. The remainder will be cut out with a sharp hand chisel.
