Back view. Notice that the button for the neck attachment is left oversized. It will be trimmed after the neck is fitted.

As one works in to the tighter curves of the scroll, smaller gouges are used. Work both sides of the neck and compare frequently to insure appearance will be pleasing. Vary the light position/ source to whatever helps you the most. I turn the work to the most advantageous position as I progress.
