These are my thickness set-up gages (marked in mm). I made these of various thicknesses of brass shim stock, riveted together. The match the thickness areas of the two plates and range from 4.5mm to 2.5mm with 0.25mm and two thinner shims that can be added to thicker shim stacks for minor changes in thickness.

And this is how the top plate appears at this stage.
