In these two photos, I am adjusting the arching curves. Again, low angle light easily shows up problem areas.
My design idea for these plates, using the rapid arching rise from the purfling channel is to increase the air volume inside the violin, while keeping the same arching height dimensions.
Pictured above is another scrapper shape, used for contouring violin plates. Use this type held on a diagonal rather than directly across the plate.
