The completed butterfly shaft rebuild looks stock as the thin wall bright nickel plated sleeves extend to the end of the shaft on each side. It is restored to new factory tolerance for proper idle engine performance. |

The carburetor housing bearing surfaces also wear : This rebuilding technique removes the worn areas in the housing as well, for a superior rebuild. |

Here the carburetor housing is being machine line reamed in the metal lathe for an accurate through hole. |

This view shows the shaft prepared for bonding on of the special repair sleeves. A special high temperature Loctite bonder is used that can last 100,000 miles of driving at 450 degrees, so this should last a lifetime of reliable service. |

The repaired shaft, just prior to installation in the carburetor housing and fitting of the butterfly with new brass screws (which are secured with blue Loctite and staked on the ends in the factory manner, for security. |
